However, too many Americans, especially the 14 million who are unemployed, could not afford a feast this year.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why Penn ACTION has been fighting for <a href=\"http:\/\/pennaction.org\/pablog\/2010\/11\/29\/fighting-for-extended-unemployment-benefits\/\"><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">fighting for the unemployed<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> <\/span><\/span>in many ways, including an event we did in Bucks County a little over a week ago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And it is why we are joining with the AFL-CIO and the Philadelphia Unemployment Project to take part in an event in Washington on Wednesday, December 1, to demand that Congress keep federal funding of extended unemployment benefits. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you are unemployed\u2014or have suffered unemployment during the current recession and benefitted from unemployment insurance\u2014please join us. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/healthcareforamericanow.org\/page\/event\/detail\/lobbyday\/4jvqj\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">RSVP here<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 today or contact Robin Stelly at (203) 216-9719. (Given the short time frame before the event, we can\u2019t guarantee you a seat on the bus if we don\u2019t hear from you today.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A bus will leave Bucks County at 6:00 am from<\/p>\n<p>Steelworkers Union Hall<br \/>\n920 Trenton Road<br \/>\nFairless Hills, PA 19030<\/p>\n<p>And Philadelphia at 6:40 from<\/p>\n<p>16<sup>th<\/sup> Street and JFK Boulevard<br \/>\nPhiladelphia, PA<\/p>\n<p>and arrive in Washington in time for a briefing and lunch at the AFL-CIO, a press conference on Capitol Hill at 12:30 pm. After the press conference, we will hold lobbying meetings with our Senators and members of Congress.
