She lent her artistic talents to school theatrical productions and the annual school fair.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9548 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/marcstier.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Reddick.jpg?resize=301%2C375&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"301\" height=\"375\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/>Daisy has long worked on the West Sharpnack Street Area Civic Council, serving as President or Treasurer. She is currently Block Captain of the street. She worked for many years alongside her late husband, John T. Reddick, Sr., at the voting polls. In recent years, she has volunteered at the 14<sup>th<\/sup> District Police Mini-station, checking on the well-being of senior citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Daisy\u2019s love of gardening has contributed in a variety of ways to Mt. Airy. She shares her gardening skills with her neighbors and, with them, designed and maintained West Sharpnack Street\u2019s Senior Park, which has won an award in the Philadelphia Horticultural Society City Garden Contest. Her gardening projects have been entered into several City Garden Contests and her own garden has won several awards for its remarkable beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Daisy\u2019s civic activism brought her to the attention of Dr. Robert Anderson, President of the Hamilton Reliance Savings and Loan Association and a former President of WMAN. In 1967, Dr. Anderson hired her as the bank\u2019s first African-American teller. She was employed with the bank for 20 years, eventually rising to the position of Manager of the West Mt.
